Here I Am Again, Full Mac Hard Drive
My work ‘puter is an old M1 Mac, 32gb ram and 500gb hard drive.
And here I am, 2026, not enough disk space.

Unfortunately, the drive keeps filling up. Last time I had to remove things, it turned out Apple was downloading a ton of live backgrounds – 50 gb worth. Since I assume these come to me stripped/performance oriented for development, didn’t bother to look. I should have known better.
So I go in and look:

Anything AI — just anything sucks the memory for those local models. In fact, I wonder if local models will even be a future, unless they are seriously changed for performance and size. But I might have to dump a few of the models in ollama an lm studio.
Projects has all my code — and a duplicate of a bunch for a software upgrade. Can probably clean the gradle/maven caches and do some git maintenance.
